ST CHARLES

Steps to the ocean and the sweeping beach of Ross Bay, this 1988 home was tired and stuck in a style that typifies the nadir of 80’s home design. Our brief was to modernize the house with a decidedly updated and contemporary approach. Although we replaced all the mechanicals, this project was essentiality a cosmetic facelift rather than a structural intervention. That said, no part of the house was left untouched. A sleek European style kitchen with matte white cabinetry, and high-end appliances anchors the multi-level home. All four bathrooms were updated including the addition of an extra deep free-standing tub in the primary ensuite. All the windows were replaced, and for the façade of the building the existing beige stucco was removed and replaced by bold-coloured panels and wood grained siding, highlighted with aluminum channels. A cantilevered overhang was created to provide protection from the elements while creating a design-forward look for the entry.
